On the subject of the Mutiny sets... what is intended for British set #1 and British set #2? It's hard to vote when you really don't know what you're voting for...
@Big Boi No worries. Funeral sculpture is another solid source for this, especially if you have a later source for the arms (even a modern one) and just need evidence it was in use in the period yo...
There aren't any Mongols or medieval Arabs in digital yet to transfer- just Huns (Roman era), pre-Islamic Arab Spearmen and very post-medieval Arabs. But I agree that some would be welcome! While ...
@Mark Dewis This is spectacular. That collection at Heidelberg is especially great. Thank you
I hope to see some of the existing digital sets transfered to this line. Maybe we can get mongols and Sarecens for this period!
@Georg Dierkes third post down on the facebook page. For some reason I can't get an embed link for the specific post. https://www.facebook.com/wargamesatlantic
So... with the (very welcome) addition of Age of Chivalry, are we looking at getting another range added to Digital? There's certainly a lot of scope for 1150 - 1320 troops of all sorts. Muslims, P...
There are many, many original rolls of arms now available online that have been scanned in. Pick a time and place and away you go. Battle and tournament scenes out of medieval manuscripts can also ...
I love the Grimsby Crest, but I will probably go something completely different. Also planning on learning to make my own transfers for these
Wish I had my printer working, I got some great ideas!
What about the winners of the February competition? Will there be an announcement soon?
@Small Hat I think they may have had both at the the same time as those helmets you are showing are often seen as cavalry helmets and some argue China never left the bronze age due to thier continu...
@Eduard Garfella For what feels like the hundredth time, it’s not so much about assembling them anachronistically or not for me as I am likely going use these guys for fantasy myself. N...
@Big Boi GW made some transfers for their Bretonnians, plus shouldn't be difficult find some ones from after market producers, f.e. there's Gripping Beasts https://www.grippingbeast.co.uk/Transfer...
@Hudson Adams Thanks for the offer but I finally got a response from Only-Games after 3 attempts and 10 days. Though they say all over their WA products that it will ship in 15 working days, it n...
@Indy Techwisp One of the arguments against the retaliers was that detonations frightened the horses.
Greetings Legionaries, As many of you may know, Wargames Atlantic releases 11 (or more) digital file sets every month as part of our tribes subscription platform on MyMiniFactory.com March and it...
Late Warring States helmets were made from rawhide or iron lamellar made from small lames, the current proposed helmets(17-22) were mostly found during the bronze age. Modern reconstructionLi...
@Eduard Garfella Cowboys, despite being a highly iconic group, are not a military Cavalry unit and therefore aren't really "Pistoleers" in the unit designation sense. Also most of the things ...
Have ordered from Only-Games several times w/diminishing success. 1st order was fine other than some stubbornly bent pieces, the next 2 had a few pieces missing. Latest order was for some halflings...
@Indy Techwisp Riders with guns, cowboys, bro. Its like the first thing you learn about the USA in the rest of the world.
I'm using a vinyl cutter to make the shield heraldry. It's pretty nice, pretty much most vector art can be turned into decals. I currently use it for emblems on bretonnian knights horse barding.
@Big Boi Home County, not Country. It's the Coat of Arms for Wiltshire. (Or the Wiltshire County Council at least, but it's the closest our county has for our own crest.)
@Indy Techwisp I'm stumped, what is that home country?
@Estoc The preorders are still up. I don't think the proportions are off, I think arms covered in chainmail looks a little wack and will often make the models arms look different. Similar to a mode...
@Estoc The fact that there's a pre-order still open for it, the company they partnered with for this is also still listing it for pre-order and it's still listed on the Release Schedule impl...
@Brian Van De Walker @Eduard Garfella Just hopping in here on a few points. A) "Japanese Pirates". I'm assuming this is referring to the Wokou Pirates (13th-17th century). That group are cu...
Are we certain that this isn't an elaborate april fools joke? The sprues, the minis- they all look off. Tge puddle bases are deeper, proportions are lankier, and bow arms look low-effort. Could thi...
@Brian Van De Walker I refer to my previous arguments: - No one forces you to assemble them anachronistically. - The term war horse is applied to animals trained to withstand these types of situa...
Working on a new batch of of Aztecs. As you can see I have added some jewelry. This is how I did it. It’s very easy to do. You will need a 1/16th and a 1/8th hole punch and some liquid p...
@Eduard Garfella Actually I am cool with all that in fantasy sets and even like it there, heck I don't even consider myself a history player, but I generally side with the button counters whe...
@Indy Techwisp Hmm, well it does loosely fit the chivalry theme being samurai and all. 😆
I used them twice (the second time to verify that the first terrible experience wasn't just a fluke) and I can't recommend them. The orders take a lot longer to be produced and sent than they quote...
@Brian Van De Walker Did the technology exist to produce them at the time? Yeah Are there records of existence of pistols at the time? Yeah Where the units of horse gunfighters throughout t...
What's your order number Graham? I'll have them look into it
Hi Not sure where to put this but I was wondering whether anyone else has used Only-Games to buy physical resin prints of WA STLs? Having no interest in getting involved with 3d printing myself, O...
One of the best things about this period is the ornate heraldry and personal insignia of much of the nobility. What is your favorite example of this? also if you know where one can find transfers f...
Coming back to this 6 month old suggestion, assuming today's "Age of Chivalry" announcement isn't just an elaborate April Fools day joke, these early Samurai would fit nicely into the earlier half ...
@Mithril2098 because there was no real use of matchlock pistols in western Europe as a cavalry weapon, and that’s the actual a darn good reason to do them in this case. The point of adding a...
I'm really curious what we can and will expect.
Please, no!
There are some contraditory rumours and offical talk about. - Punic Wars and the talk about "tiny ellies" and sculped romans with some rumors about it - Gallic Wars, which also was mentioned and ...
@Greaver Blade Biblical wars are so cool and i think there is a decent market of people who aren't really into wargaming who would ge very into it if easily accessable israelites and philistenes we...
@Eduard Garfella yeah.. i actually couldn't find any examples or mentions of matchlock pistols, for that era or any other. i'm sure they existed, but probably not as military items. the pistol conc...
Nobody is going to force you to assemble your miniatures in an anachronistic way. Consider pistols an optional accesory for conquerors on foot as well. https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pistolet...
To repeat what I said earler in the comments (but with edits) Frankly neither pistol shows up in the Early American conquest of the Aztecs since wheel lock pistols where not even really invented ye...
@Big Boi it really has been a long wait, but I think it will be worth it.
