We could slip this into Imperial Conquests range to cover Boxer Rebellion and Russo-Japanese War but this will do:

Yes!
This is a super exciting set.
If one needs inspiration for the Civil War / aftermath check out the Soviet classic "White Sun of the Desert":
Red Army Soldier Sukhov battles Whites and Basmachi guerillas while saving a harem in what is now Turkemenstan.
Kind of Illustrates all the possibilities and conflicts over such a vast area that this set works for.
The Soviet-Polish War is fascinating as well. The Poles save Western Europe for the second time?
Very very very excited for this kit. I have an army of WW1/RCW Russians that would LOVE to receive some reinforcements with these lads, but that aside, it really is incredible how many different forces and settings this box can cover.
Kornilov's Russian stormtroopers...
Ukrainians...
Kitbash with WW1 Germans for Northwestern White Russians!
Have some leftover bits of the upcoming WW1 British kit, and you have Gen. Kappel's Siberians!
I will echo a couple comments I saw on the New Entry comments:
The rifles should have straight stocks, not "C" stocks. They do look a little short, but it's always hard to tell with renders. The bayonets are too thick but that might be a 100% necessary evil.
(Not Mosin rifles, but this picture illustrates straight stocks top and bottom, and a "C" stock middle.)
The down flap Budenovkas could be sacrificed for papakhas or brimless hats. The Budenovkas are very welcome but the flaps up ones are enough.
This is my favorite WGA release so far. (Conquistadors or Panzer Lehr second).
It would be awesome to support it with:
A WW1/WW2 Cossack Kit.
https://wargamesatlantic.com/community/xenforum/topic/49886/suggestions-for-new-soviet-kits
(Discussion almost all the way at the bottom).
A Tachanka Kit (Could work for WW1, Bolshevik Revolution, Polish Soviet War, WW2).
(Discussion almost at the bottom)
Super bonus points if the Tachanka kit comes with an Anka the Machine Gunner miniature. (Kind of like Boudica with the Victrix chariot ;) )
(Reds VS Whites. Anka stacks bodies. Bonus cavalry charges.)
I notice there are EIGHT unique bodies. WGA is upping their game!
@JTam we'll see what fits. It always helps when there's just one type of rifle.
@Hudson Adams
Touche.
Of course. I got excited ;)
@JTam Polish Soldiers? Yes please! I would preorder those in a heartbeat!
I like how everyone wants each set to do 87 different things. 🤪
@Ice Giant
Well that's partially true. But I think most are expressing pleasure that this one kit CAN do so much and represent so much as is or with just a touch of kit bashing.
@Sydney Walczak
Dedicated Polish troops for the Polish-Soviet War would be awesome.
I'm far from an expert on the conflict, but it seems to me the WGA Germans might work as a decent base for conversion. The collars not quite right, but close. The tunic should have exposed buttons, but it's not a terrible match. The belt, ammo pouches, pants, and putees look good. Just add WGA French or Russian Adrian heads and czapka heads if you can source them.
Also, have you seen this miniature:
It's a beautiful mini worth basing an Army around.
@Ice Giant
JTam has got it right. This kit is very versatile just out of the box because of how little the Russian uniform changed for several decades - but it's also a very handy source of bits for all kinds of other armies with some very minimal kitbashing.
I think WGA prides itself on how multi-purpose their range is, and for good reason IMO. It's good business sense, and stuff like the "WW2 sprue" for the French is a nice bonus for the consumer that could very easily have been marked-up as a separate item.
WGA:
Wait, WGA already has a relationship with Sarissa?
Sarissa makes this awesome Tachanka:
It's made of wood which is distinctly satisfying for a wood vehicle. But it doesn't come with horses, traces, crew, storage, or machinegun. A WGA/Sarissa collaboration where WGA made the above would be awesome.
I'm so much looking forward to the release of WGA Russians!
The only changes that I would like to see (if any changes are to be made) are:
No shoulder boards. it's easier to add them using green stuff modelling putty then trying to scrape them off with a craft knife.
Putties over Jack boots or maybe a mix.
A inclusion of a Madsen light machine gun.
Full steam ahead chaps, I'm so excited!!
How about offering a second box in greatcoats with papakha caps? If you made this kit without any other cap options, you could then either include an extra 2 figures or have a maxim gun included.
My body is ready:
@JTam All good books.
Some great colorized photos of WW1 Russian troops.

@JTam some fascinating pictures there.

Some of the arm to body joins look weird (Officer arms too low) (Red Soldier number 3 in the top picture) but maybe that was the assembly. I don't recognize the Officer's pistol.
These are minor gripes. These guys look pretty dang good!
There is an article in Military Miniature Magazine about the Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan in 1929 that really great! It gave me some inspiration to use the upcomming Russians as well as the WA Afghan Miniatures.
Check it out if you are interested!
