I use vallejo red oxide paste as a basis. https://www.vallejo-farben.de/red-oxid-paste-200-ml looks okay on its own, looks great with orange drybrush and wash (red or brown, whatever you prefer)

Thanks, that's actually a really good idea!   It looks like they've got two different textures of the red, too, so helps make things a little more interesting!

Fourth Edition was Best Edition. AWESOME. SICK. I think in later editions you could still take Ogres in an Empire Army as Dogs of War if nothing else.
