Tidied my workspace for the first time in a while so thought I'd join in on the action!
@JTam eh there's something incredibly satisying/enticing about seeing Osprey books stacked in a row. Makes you just want to browse for hours. Think it's got a lot to do with the Peter Dennis ...
Here's the German reference shelf: And some of the other periods are here:
I've seen good results from this product: https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Technical-Martian-Ironearth-2019 Depends how cracked you want your earth to be I suppose.
@Forrest Wentworth those lizards look great! I love the coloured heads you've given them. Makes them really pop! How did you do the rocket launcher? I've got a WIP conversion on t...
@Hudson Adams a sprue or two of Death Fields heads for conversions would be absolutely amazing!
Hi there, I was wondering if anyone has any experience making red desert terrain or that style of base. For reference, I'm thinking that real red earth look, like in the Aussie Outbaxk: I've had ...
Looking forward to those development photos mate. If you decide to get off the boat, watch out for tigers!
@William Redford I had an Empire Army in 4th Edition. Used Dwarf clansmen as my Infantry blocks. Halflings for most of my projectile troops. Had Kislevite Winged Lancers an...
Amazing work Brother. The finished army looks spectacular. Nice photography and scenery as well. I'll miss your updates. Hopefully WGA hurries up and releases the Fre...
Fourth Edition was Best Edition. AWESOME. SICK. I think in later editions you could still take Ogres in an Empire Army as Dogs of War if nothing else.
@Sam Bellamy Elaborated on the WW1/WW2 Naval Infantry kit here: https://wargamesatlantic.com/community/xenforum/topic/49886/suggestions-for-new-soviet-kits Maybe you can lend your expertis...
@Hudson Adams you know. I have searched everywhere for 28mm chimpanzee heads. I've looked for 3d files and other model kits and it seems to me that there is a definite lack of availability for my a...
@Berggeit looks cool! But I must ask, do you hand paint primer on or how do you prime over your grass tufts?
Here it is. My last post for this forum thread. Here is my complete WWI French army. Thanks Wargames Atlantic for these great models. I look forward to coming back to this project when those...
Next lot of Irish done The flesh was done with either kislev or cadian flesh tone followed by guilliman flesh contrast. I also tried to free hand a hawk on a guy like from Cobra Kai, safe to sa...
@Yronimos Whateley back when i was in the 9th/10th grade when I played Warhammer, Empire was my favorite army. I would buy as i could and would get stuff as gifts and what not. The thing i had the ...
Here is the profile from the 4th edition Empire army book.
Back in 4th Edition Warhammer, Empire armies could have ogres, not sure if they could have them before that, I dont think they could after... Back when Halflings and giants were part of the army li...
Looking forward to your project updates. Try not to wear a hole in your CD of "Fortunate Son" while painting.
@Yronimos Whateley I think people have always wanted Landsknecht Ogres to fit in with their Empire armies. Additionally, GW is resurrecting the Old World/Warhammer Fantasy Battles in the ne...
@Simon Boulton definitely that's what I plan to do: Roman auxiliaries
My first kitbash was Grognards with Tau parts, for some Gue'vesa aka human helpers. Then I've lost interest in 40k, but with WGA sets still feeding my imagination, here I am, kitbashing troops for ...
Hi all just to say I may be off Forum, for a short time, my "Nam" arrived friday and now I must cack down and get to work. Sadly the real world pushes in to my time so much that it becomes model or...
Make that an army of goblins trolling everyone by pretending to be Persian ladies, and you've got a normal day on the internet.... Looks like an ogre to me, too - I'd expect WA's Landsnecht Ogre p...
@Brian Van De Walker "...a sprue of them just standing, maybe a mix of the bare and furnished, or a mix furnished for the main eras/armies WA is planning on doing... instead of doing one era, do a ...
Here it is, my final five French soldiers! I feel great completing about 80ish soldiers. The sculptor, Thieu Duong, really did a fantastic job on this set. The models took washes really well whi...
@William Redford ROFL
@Benjamin Hayward I would. Like JTam said, the statuesque heads are great and i have bought a ton. And there have been at least 2 recent succesful kickstarters for head stls (which doesnt help me s...
@JTam i dont normally like historical armies but i am contemplating the goblin, troll persian lady army as well...
@Aureus Mandate As you said it COULD cover 1943 on up Soviet Infantry. The result would be suboptimal though. It wouldn't look terrible, but the devil is in the details. Th...
@William Redford Convenient, I've always wanted to do an Army of trolls, goblins, and Persian ladies.
Well, I didn't mean to de-rail this thread. 😆 Would you buy head (and maybe arms, weapons, and gear) option sprues?
From Jeremy on the article announcing the pole, "Horses like this in bareback are fairly easy to find at this scale. My suggestion is the ideal setup would be bareback horses with the option to ad...
@Steffen Seitter 20th century would be pushing it, but I think a set like this could comfortably cover the time line from 1891-1922. Any earlier than that, and the Mosin rifle they're defini...
I would be more interested in Ogres... But since Wargames Atlantic is making Ogre Landsknecht i dont really need them... but at the same time they could add diversity to the group as a whole. Lokks...
If anyone ever watches this, who is your favorite character? Mine is the long suffering servant / ex-Soldier. I didn't count them, but I strongly suspect he quietly stacked more French bodies tha...
Interesting. Looks like an ogre to me. Even has the gut plate (tm).
Editing the title here as this has been relaunched. This was originally in the Rennaisance section as they have landsknecht-ish ogres... A dedicated thread was put in the off topic section ...
A head sprue with heads in M38 Panamka hats would be neat. Combine with M38 tunic bodies for adventures in the Stans or Operation Contenance - the joint English/Russian invasion of Iran in 1941....
Russian or not, the torsos seem perfect for Jedi or similar sci-fi characters.
I'm hoping to get into some fantasy wargames soon so I'd appreciate a decent horse kit that isn't closely tied to a particular era or theme. My first thought is that bare horses with optional saddl...
Some standing horses would be nice, but make them bare and do some seperate sadles and blankets and packs, even if they come in two parts for each one in order to get a decent fit onto the horse wo...
