For those of you who wish to see the forth comming delights of the Quar Tractors I joined their face book site and present you with these.
Very nice to have you come over and join us, and to keep us in the loop with your wonderful Quar.
I would say a one of this for Epic HC: Punic War Set with Republican Romans and Carthaginians: 9x Infantry (3x Hastati, 3x Principes, 3x Triarri)3x Leves Skimisher2x Equites Cavalry 6x Libo-Phoe...
@Joshua Qualtieri Great to have you posting on here mate! As a person with some Welsh heritage and having lived in North Wales for a decade awhile back (although admittedly my ability to spea...
My own adventures in this space have just been using 1/35 tank kits as the basis for 40K Ork vehicles. That's an area where you really can't go much wrong and the nominal scale REALLY does not matter.
@William Redford I'm a little disapointed at the lack of trinoculars. Very speciesist 😂
The Dixon Yari I bought arrived today. I was pleasantly surprised, they are really good quality. Nice crisp casting and the metal is firm enough that it won't bend too badly. better than I was expe...
Nice to see some good representation. 1, 4, 7, 13, 15, 18, 22, 24, and 28 are clearly female. 🤪
What are your ideas for an Epic Hail Caesar box set? Would you have a different idea for a 28mm Hail Caesar box set? Right now Warlord has a 28mm and Epic Waterloo Black Powder box se...
@Lord Marcus @Pierre Lerdou-Udoy I'm assuming your "Ancients" library is robust. Is there any standout books for you? Personal favorites? I know it's hard without narrowing...
The models will have integrated puddle bases. The rules don't mind if you use 25mm or 32mm bases from just about anywhere. I'm not sure if Hudson is planning to pack some WA bases in there or not!
I went with "desert" for Dark Sun. I'd take pretty much anything but the Tolkien-esque (a la GW) or "standard D&D-"type; I still dig those, but there are beyond plenty of those types to c...
Hello and welcome! We're glad to have you. Will the quar have built-in bases for the game or will additional bases be required? Or will they be included in the box?
Hi, everyone!Figured since we have a forum here I'd say hello. I'm the guy behind the Quar and Zombiesmith. Feel free to ask me whatever you fancy. The best sources of info are at:Welcome - The Qu...
@Grumpy Gnome 1. yes of course 2. there are lots of weapon options for them but Sor Paddock didn't become the Orcleaver by chance! @Geoff - the Quar are going to be a hard plastic sets in bo...
We're almost ready to go live with this new endeavor (or at least the first part of it) but in the meantime here's another teaser of the kinds of extras that will be part of Atlantic Digital's line...
Thinking about the Firelock Blood and Plunder Raise the Black plastics... I wonder if they will only be available from Firelock or will WGA offer them separately as they intend to do with the 0200 ...
Now this heavily converted machine is now reduced from 1/48th scout mech to a1/56th Heavy. At the end of the day we will all enjoy our own styles and ranges GG as a really great Pulp set up with is...
Now 1/64th is way to small so they say for 1/56th personally with afigure in my pocket to judge "Touch Wood" not made a mistake yet.
Above is the 1/64th Matchbox Hovercraft, these machines I`m geating ready for my "Dinos" and the new Ooh - Rahs.
Above is a coverted Matchbox, "TowingTractor" towing what will be an"Enginering Trailer". Scale being 1/64th. The Hum-Vee is a 1/64th Corgie. The Quad is a toy also1/64th, the figure on Quad is EMC...
Well you all know my beliefs I`m 1/56th all the way, but unlike the rest of you, now Iv`ve dumped the major load of my minis I`ve only 1/64 th cars and WGA,WGF, and Warlord Project Z, Metal C...
I really want skeleton cavalry and chariots. I think the chariots will be based on Trojan war kits, so I'm looking forward to that stuff coming out so I can get more skeletons. Being the contest w...
@Mark Dewis Perhaps the Clangers? @Joshua Qualtieri Message received, reply imminent. Thanks again! Mrs. GG is coming to accept that a Quar project is on the horizon now. They will look ...
So... I had never run across these guys before, but they strongly remind me of some childrens' book characters, and it's not the Wombles or Moomins. But I can't put my finger on which ones. They ma...
It's sad to see cannibal skeletons. Just seems like a waste of a good meal. Nom nom.
These look really nice. And will be physical models!
In a science fiction context, you're usually adapting a historical kit to be an ahistorical vehicle, and it doesn't matter if it turns out bigger than the original. In that respect, 40K isn't the v...
While there are few detailed armour descriptions in LoTR, there is this verse of the Song of Earendil: "In panoply of ancient kings,in chainéd rings he armoured him;his shining shield was s...
It may be worth noting there's a big difference between something like Spacenam, where the parent company owns the IP and trademarks, and a historical venture like 02 Hundred where no IP is involve...
So clearly there weren't any observant Quar fans around when we were discussing what the symbol might be... 😄
With great pleasure, Comrade... As a Basque(-Roman) reenactor, I was a veteran of the Sertorius' Army in the Pyrenean Mountains (Sertorian war, Iacetania - Huesca, from 80 to 72 BCE), then defenso...
@JTam For what, specficially, are you looking for? Miniatures should be designed for a specific period, people, civilization, unit type, etc. and designers should use proper historical res...
@Pierre Lerdou-Udoy What better sources do you recommend?
@Lord Marcus I would tend to think new edition will not invalidate the supplement books. 90% of the "Armies of.... " books stayed the same when Bolt Action 2nd Edition came out. &...
@Grumpy Gnome Hey! I tried to reply on LAF but I'm not sure it went through. Its not in my sent messages. Let me know!
@Caratacus it is the only excuse. The bottom line rules all. at least for miniatures companies with a limited customer base.
ugh. More books to buy. 1rst edition plays well.
The problem, in my opinion, is not really the scale of the vehicles "per se", but what I want to do with them... using minis I like. The WW2 minis from Warlord are awesome, but they are definitely...
Great to see you on here@Joshua Qualtieri ! I have to admit I am quite taken by your world building, even if I am as usual... late to the party. Especially the fantastically quirky and “...
First time I've ever heard of the Quar as well. After finding that the rules were on a free discount I immediately snatched them. There's just something about these space ant eaters that interest m...
@Mark Dewis Go to the top of the class with a "Blue Peter Badge" or should that be a"Royist Flag" Quar.
QUAR! QUAR! QUAR! Bring on the little "Pykpyk" Squirels.
@Grumpy Gnome Quar it is then my "Jolly little Gnome"and I think we will join you bring on the "Maybury SQUIRELS"
Hi all! I didn't know Hudson had added a Quar section. I'm glad everyone (for the most part!) is intrigued by the Quar. Been a passion of mine since I was a kid!
What “looks right” is subjective to the eye of the beholder since none of these models ever seem to be consistently scaled accurately. So whatever works for you, works for you. My take...
