Why is it when I think of Landsknechts I think of Centurii Chan?
Why is it when I think of Landsknechts I think of Centurii Chan?
So I just got a box of conquistadors today and I wanted to figure out what to do with them. I've already come to the decision that I would make four of them into greatsword weilders, and at least 1...
I think one decent expansion to the Renaissance range would be including non-Spanish soldiers from Europe to include..... just about everyone else. I myself am wondering what a historical Tudor Era...
Looks great, I've got a box arriving soon with some foot knights from age of chivalry.
Oh wait, Brian already covered that. Also, why were the conquistador heads cut out? I would have liked to have used those heads for zombie conquistadors since I just got a set of conquistadors tod...
@Yronimos Whateley I'm surprised you forgot about Dracula's America when it comes to the cowboy zombie heads, since that takes place in an America ruled by..... well..... Drac. So there would be pl...
@Brian Van De Walker The difference would only be in the price per figure givent that the army builder is $34.95 for 48 bodies. That and i am not a big fan of Gripping beast. :)
@William Redford hmm, I am not sure the AB would be much diffrent from using the old Grippong Beast Dark Age warriors to soak up parts, but okay.
@Chris Pryme Why no howdah?
@Hudson Adams In its current planned state😆, I bet a nickle it will not sell as well as a Warring States baggage train set let alone 2x what you guys actually have planned for WSC considering the d...
@Hudson Adams I know we don't have the back end numbers and we don't know what's going on in marketing and all that, but it's been on preorder for a bit and it's still sitting at <30% on the fun...
If "The Greatest Sport is War" you don't just want your team to win, you want them to look good doing so. As such it probably wouldn't be strange for somebody to pick up some Polish horsemen from ...
Some pistoliers with the Renn hevy cav kit.
I know this would be more "fantasy" but the bodies could be painted to look like poor, unarmored troops.
I know this is an old thread but there doesnt seem to be much movemnt in this section of the boards. I am thinking about getting the daark ages army buider set and using those bodies to soak up the...
Neighboring clans meet on the field of battle to determine the who will control the area. Noble samurai assemble their ashigaru to settle the dispute once and for all(or at least for now )
Super hyped for these when they finally release. This is what I would love to see: - if they're operators and not uniformed army, then I think they can get away with less uniformality on the head ...
@Brian Van De Walker ha we'll see. I'm sure the Dark Age set will sell 2x at least what Warring States does.
Good, because, "out of the trenches" is exactly the look I was hoping to achieve. And as I know nothing of photography I will take any advice into consideration. In fear of boring people this sta...
@Drangir Honestly wish the damned cav came with cheap motorbikes instead of boom lances (bike are way more Postapoc and cultist), but that is not what is sadly😆. That said while I do ag...
So the ruleset creation contest is now open to voting on its first catagory here. Its divided up into 4 catagories, First up is Fantasy. I voted for my own ruleset Cold Blooded Honor ...
Pretty neat, they all look like from a single unit despite being vastly different models! Love the grounded style and "out of trenches" vibe of army that fight a long campaign. Small tip, where's ...
@Brian Van De Walker I guess it's also a matter of lack of proof they've been used or lackluster mentions of the wings in the literature, like from the writers from the other side. Not sure though,...
Mostly Cannon Fodder and Grognards with some others mixed in along with GW IG stuff with some conversions and, forgive me, some attempts at sculpting.
@Drangir I saw the VM version and found them lacking, no bionic eyes, no "death head" gasmasks, no lizard people cloaks. In short they look like historical miniatures with modern webbing and scifi ...
I'd be rather interested in SE Asian forest elfs, especially if they could have an Elephant (no Howdah thanks).
@Big Boi The AB is just another Dark Age Warrior set with a ton of heads left over, would rather hear more about the Warring States Chinese sets, get the feeling more people with real investment we...
@Drangir I have heard all sorts of "historians" online make claims about how "this armor/clothing/whatever was for parade use only" and then find examples those same pieces with bullet and blade de...
This is the prefect opprotunity to make a whole new post about the dark age army builder to help get it closer to that funding goal though 😁
Remember that "Husaria" as Polish heavy cavalry operating from 1500-1800 are quite different from many units called hussars under other nations - after that hussars remained on the battlefields fie...
@Drangir yeah, the intent of my question was for Historicals, not Death Fields. while i get this is a DF thread, a historicals winged lancers set would be in fairly decent demand if done in plastic...
I assumed using Renaissance heavy cav would be for historic hussars (like, nothing stops you from making a Death Fields unit out of Napoleonic minis with plasma weapons). Totally agree with Death F...
@Christopher Huth That would be nice.
@Mithril2098 Short answer: No, and while I would not mind it do others really want historical Death Fields kits? Probably not (but hey we still have Iron Core in HD historical scale). @Drangir If ...
Is it possible to get the Last War worm/maggot sprue separate from the rest of the box?
@Mithril2098 I thought the same, but unfortunately I doubt it could be done correctly with an upgrade sprue, or it would be to extensive. You probably could stick a pair of wings, but to get the f...
how much of the polish hussar equipment has commonality with the incoming Renaissance cavalry sets? could a hsitorical version be done as a upgrade sprue?
@Sir Nobody I think there's still quite a niche for the Polish Hussars minis. Victoria Miniatures had a sweet crowdfund for various cavalry units for WH40k proxies, including sci-fi Poli...
Yep for sure. Rob is just finishing up some things on a Barons' War set for next year and then we'll have him back on this to wrap it up and finalize things. Brian - the value of the pound to the ...
Bits of them are out there. Too much of a pain in the ass to recreate them.
Can we assume full interchangeability with the Goth, Roman and Irish Warrior boxes? I hope so, because then this means that Gripping Beast bits and bobs can also be used for even more creative ende...
@Sir Nobody Actually I could see them as Free Agents, same deal with Mongols since the main selling point is the cavalry, could even do both as mutant cyborg centaurs if wanted though that may be a...
Well that answers that. Do we know if anyone Archive.orged the blog posts?
Yep unfortunately Shopify doesn't have a backup on blog posts so those are syonara. Andy's just implemented an overall backup system so shouldn't happen again.
Has anyone else noticed that all the articles posted since the September 4th article called "Renaissance Cavalry - Choices!" have vanished? I was trying to see if there was an article about the Pe...
I'm sure everyone "loves" ideas for new armies espescialy seeing as there are already several waiting to be fleshed out with more sets but the idea won't leave me alone so in brief; Polish cavalry...
Dang the Ai on spam bots is getting smarter.
