So many conversion posibilites for these - Italian Wars, Border Reivers, Frostgrave, Diskworld watchmen, Classic Fantasy - might even use them for Conquistadors
I really like this concept - may have to "borrow" your idea!
@William Redford I think you can still get the forest goblins off Sheildwolf's Web store.
Firstly I think the WA Giant Spiders are great! However I felt that some extra instructions could have been really helpful when first facing the sprues out of the box so I created the video below, ...
Great suggestions@Yronimos Whateley!
@Brian Van De Walker Bone armor sounds cool.
@JTam That deepkin meme. Also giant armored fish bowl tanks. @William Redford I would be okay with them being all female (could use them as sirens, etc. that way) and having a more fishl...
@Charles Tottington Yes actually for DnD alone, but if WA gave them blow pipes to make them the skink add on to the lizardmen it might not be a bad idea and I wouldn't mind seeing blackpowder...
@Caratacus Actually I think they should just go for a "fits in with the Lizardmen WA already does" look, maybe with segmented or bone armor.
From what I remember they were going to do 2 Late roman ABs (one armored and one unarmored) and 2 goth ABs (one armored and one unarmored). Given we are talking Frontier troops it would likely be a...
@Caratacus Is there a real diffrence between Norse-Gaels and Vikings during the post West Rome/Viking era? I think they are more intresting later in the HYW and other late middle ages and ren...
Own the kit, probably best non-human I have (most fun to build anyways), I think the tails they come with are okay though I would love some curled up chameleon tails, and maybe some dragonmen...
@Caratacus Boom! Nicely presented ideas.
Civil War Vet with Jet article Footage Civil War Veteran Bill Lundy interacts with some Airmen and a jet fighter. There is some debate on whether he was actually in the war. Regardle...
I havent gotten minbe yet, but these were posted on the Wargames Atlantic legion facebook group by Daniel Broaddus. @Daniel Broaddus
@Yronimos Whateley They've made good progress on the "Escape From Stalingrad Z" game. Nicely done video for the upcoming Kickstarter: https://youtu.be/CSriNHRQOjk I think the next t...
@Aidan Donaghy I sincerely hope WGA does come out with some expansion(s) / weapon sets for the Panzer Lehr. As you noted there are several German heavy weapons unavailable in plastic from a...
@H M Well argued!
@Yronimos Whateley Enjoyed that whole post. This particularly: Love the Hollow Earth series. An audible version is free for a lot of Burroughs' works: https://librivox.org/at-the-earth...
@david phillips Ah, I see it now! The rifle is fairly space age.
Not a fan of GB Plastics. Their poses and designs are dated... Their late Romans are highly inacurate and look more like a fantasy range...
Archer were very common in Late Roman Armies. The numbers of Archers were increasing during late Antiquity.
Anyone have an idea what the Late Roman Army Builder will be made of? Will it be more Legionaires or will it be the limitanei? I cant find any minis for the limitanei so I kind of hope it will be m...
That's PERFECT! The character minis alone are excellent, but the rocket-ship is exactly the sort of thing I've been looking for!
I'll abstain from voting, as I'm with William - I don't really make much use of Kobolds, rolling with reskinned variations on Goblins as low-level humanoids instead, so I don't really have much of ...
I'd definitely like to see some Lorica Squamata Romans as they are also not that often seen in plastic (Lorica Segmentata Romans, being the ones we know and love, feature the most often of course)....
I especially agree that I'd love to see some additional weapon/arm options, and for both fantasy and sci-fi, including some off-hand weapons - a lizard-man warrior duel-wielding a ray-gun pistols a...
@Ben S If you're looking for a big-skirmish-small-battle ruleset that allows for around 30-50 models a side a la AoS, I'm enjoying SPQR, which has a comprehensive army list for Achemenid Persians. ...
@Caratacus Yeah, I would be interested in WA version as i generally prefer their kits to Mantics. and by "generally" only the Salamanders and the abyssal ladies from mantic i would really put in t...
@William Redford Thanks for showing me these size comparison pics! That is surprising, I thought Mantic Salamanders would be the same size as GW's Saurus Warriors, but they are considerably wider....
Really they are on the small size for mostrous infantry, but look closer to that than regular infantry. They could not fit on 25mm or even 30mm bases... maybe 32mm but with the wide stance i kind o...
@Caratacus They are lacking height wise, but are much broader than regular infantry. I use rounds, and put mine in 40mm like the Ogre Bulls. Here is a couple I had made as "not draconians" for my ...
@William Redford I looked at the Salamanders, and the ordinary ones you've posted are decent and look similar to the Dyndraig, but are infantry rather than Monstrous Infantry (Monstrous Infantry be...
@JTam you got most of it the rifle is also grognard, the cannon looking thing on his face is an arm meant to attach to a weapon from einherjar, and the staff they are attached to I think came from...
I don't think i'd be too invested in a kobald sprue I normally use goblins, and the reptile sprue tends to be close enough. could be fun if they did, but i'd rather they make something else
@William Redford I don't at the moment - you see I bought just a couple of lizardmen sprues off a seller on Ebay to test out how much I like them before making the plunge on a full order, and as a ...
@H M Do you have a pic of an unenhanced lizardman next to one of your guys? I Had considered getting some lizardmen for fun but just havent gotten around to it... In your army are the lizard gusy w...
Mantic has their salamanders, which is one of their kits that I actually think is oretty good. I got them in the kickstarter so I dont know how the retail kits come. But the ones i got were loose i...
Some WIP shots of my Stallenberg 'Kriegers'. Commander, Commissar Lord, Commissar (based on the one from WD 149 cover) and Lieutennant Vets/Grenadiers Close up of the Sgt and another d...
@JTam Certainly! Hard to say on when eactly that will be, as a couple of the character pieces are taking a while to find the right bitz for, and then once they are found doing the right sculpting ...
If this set is meant to specifically be Irish Cavalry, then it should feature entirely unarmoured bodies, the only cavalry that the Dark Age Irish fielded were the light Ridire, equipped with javel...
@Grumpy Gnome That is a good point, and such a kit would present a good opportunity to include options for Kroxigors as well as Dragonborn/Dragon-Men, though my concerns are that to include both Az...
I certainly agree that only changing 25% of the sprue to fit each of those three factions was a very poor idea from Gripping Beast. The Picts version is definitely the best version of the kit, as ...
Sassanids are a major faction that haven't yet been blessed with a plastic kit or two. I'm unsure on the full level of differences their units would have had in comparison to the Achaemenid and Par...
Excellent points. I think some sort of follow up support box would sell well and address those issues brought up.
GW Kroxigor are also in demand... and expensive.
Hobgrotz are generally cheap right now on German eBay, I suspect similar prices on the British and American ebay lists. I was going to say Reaper has Kobolds pretty well covered (we just got a bun...
