@Kinjack Great idea for a thread. Thanks!
@Grumpy Gnome Thanks Brother!
@Yronimos Whateley The ALICE pack isn't a bad piece of kit for Apocalypse Survivors. It's not sexy, but it's rugged and gets it done. You can also ditch/stow the bag and use the ...
The backpack's best match so far is to an ALICE pack - but the top pocket is definitely a curve ball. That might suggest a couple possibilities: Vietname/Cold War US soldiers Sciencefictio...
@William Redford Yes. Also, how does no 28mm Thusnelda miniature exist? #NoJustice #ThusneldaNow #RomansOut https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thusnelda
@JTam Right on, brother! You are one excellent researcher.
I would be down for a box or 6 of shield maidens... or Female celts, or any other wild "barbarian" lady. Or Maybe just an Olga Kurylenko miniature. Or a boxed set of Olga Kurylenko multipart miniat...
Has anyone recieved their Conquistadors yet? Perhaps across the pond? Haven't been despatched yet to the U.K I don't think, the release schedule says Feb though so might be soonish. I...
Not my timeline but women with weapons... ? ... can it get better...? Combined with the female cannon fodder... perfekt for me... 🤣
@Brian Van De Walker The shirtless Soldier in the picture looks like a Platoon Leader. Lieutenant rank on the helmet. CAR15 in the lap. Might have his camera to get good sh...
Influence of Commando: Influence of Predator:
Catachans were inspired by 80/90s action films like Rambo, Commando, Predator, video games like Contra, as well as Vietnam. I think the basic Catachan look was capturing the stripped down GI in ...
Yup, the old MRE combat spoon. That Janisary article was a fascinating read. Appreciate the link. I had no idea about the hat spoons. Than again I just learned about the ship hats.
A kit of all female Viking Shield Maidens. Historically accurate? Almost certainly not. Do I care? No. Not even a little bit. Some armored for Hearthguard, some just...
Related. Dug out a Kosovo bring back shikatch from the back of the closet.
@JTam I wonder what the progression of '______ of shame' goes... Pile of Shame < Closet of Shame < Garage of Shame < Aircraft Hangar of Shame ? I have to admit ...
Thought I'd start up a thread on what people would like to see for this period since there isn't one yet. I love the Dark Ages, definitely my fave period along with Renaissance. ...
@Grumpy Gnome Space Nam infantry would only work as proxies for Catachans if WA did what GW did and based them solely on the "oh, so historically accurate" film that inspired the Catachans🤣: As ...
I was gutted when the MRE spoon I have been carrying around in one of the numerous pockets in my daily wear “photographer’s vest” for years finally broke. An essential bit ...
@JTam and@Yronimos Whateley yeah, it could be an ALICE pack but, having humped one for more miles than I care to remember back day (I was a Boonie Rat back before I was a Grumpy Gnome), ...
@Steffen Seitter @JTam If you were referring to the clearly 20th century western style wrapped foot in this pic early as being Warring States Chinese: FOR THE HUNDERDTH TIME!😤 it is cl...
Reference: Hmmmh. Could be. The only thing that seems off is the pouch attached to the top flap. You could attach a pouch below the flap on the above rucks, but not on the fla...

Jan 28 Feb 4 Feb 11 I'm mostly sure we've got a sneak-peak of a warg in the Jan 8 picture, and I THINK that's a Vietnam-era US A.L.I.C.E. pack in the Feb 11 picture. I think t...

@Murray Fish There's a lot of neat ideas there. I might pick up the rules. Thanks for the write up!
OK, I'm going to post my closet of shame. No one should be afraid to post anything after this:
@JTam I really like it. Terrific command and control system where order counters are placed every turn face down and each player takes turns in activiting either one of their own or one of their o...
Thanks for the kind words, team. The number was just a rando regimental number that I though wouldn't be too difficult to paint if I get more of these guys and the notches bove it are mean...
I use vallejo red oxide paste as a basis. https://www.vallejo-farben.de/red-oxid-paste-200-ml looks okay on its own, looks great with orange drybrush and wash (red or brown, whatever you prefer)
Thanks, that's actually a really good idea! It looks like they've got two different textures of the red, too, so helps make things a little more interesting!
I snapped a picture at the local Renn Faire yesterday. Here's photographic evidence to put the small horse argument to bed.
@Kinjack To your first post: I won't lie, I always turn to the inner color plates first when I get a new Osprey book. To your second post: What are you doing? Nobody wants to post ...
I'm not sure how yours horses are parted, but if possible i would like to have 3x2 magnet slots support on horse top and sides:
Tidied my workspace for the first time in a while so thought I'd join in on the action!
@JTam eh there's something incredibly satisying/enticing about seeing Osprey books stacked in a row. Makes you just want to browse for hours. Think it's got a lot to do with the Peter Dennis ...

@Hudson Adams a sprue or two of Death Fields heads for conversions would be absolutely amazing!
Hi there, I was wondering if anyone has any experience making red desert terrain or that style of base. For reference, I'm thinking that real red earth look, like in the Aussie Outbaxk: I've had ...
Looking forward to those development photos mate. If you decide to get off the boat, watch out for tigers!

Fourth Edition was Best Edition. AWESOME. SICK. I think in later editions you could still take Ogres in an Empire Army as Dogs of War if nothing else.
