While the shieldmaidens above are largely "Hollywoodized” there is serious evidence for female warriors. https://historycurator.com/viking-shield-maidens-historically-accurate/ https://www....
@Steffen Seitter have you seen the upcoming Victrix Romano-British set? Looks to have loads and loads of head options that might interest you.
Plus, Wargames Atlantic could probably use a lot of the sculpting work done for the conquistadors! Maybe throw in a few more armoured figures and away you go.
@Patrick Stoddart A man after my own heart! I made a pretty long comment on here about how a generic Elizabethan/Tudor infantry box would be huge for the hobby and cover so many armie...
@Ice Giant JTam has got it right. This kit is very versatile just out of the box because of how little the Russian uniform changed for several decades - but it's also a very handy source of ...
Looks like we've got Russians suitable for a few turn-of-the-century wars confirmed, plus these intriguing teasers: A uniform with a kind of a cool sci-fi look to it, and South Park's Kenny, all...
@Sydney Walczak Dedicated Polish troops for the Polish-Soviet War would be awesome. I'm far from an expert on the conflict, but it seems to me the WGA Germans might work as a decent b...
@Ice Giant Well that's partially true. But I think most are expressing pleasure that this one kit CAN do so much and represent so much as is or with just a touch of kit bashing.
@Ice Giant They are both miniatures companies that made plastic miniatures. One has great box art. One did awful box art. It's just pointing out something WGA does well.&nb...
I did a super quick mock up. You're right, that shield doesn't look right ;)
This week's definitely seems unfinished. I think there is detail missing that would make it more obvious.
With some of the bodies you could make it work. Interested to see what they do with the cavalry.
I like how everyone wants each set to do 87 different things. 🤪
You have to do either completely bare or with specific tack or it's useless I think. I don't understand how separate straps could be added seems really finnicky don't ya think?
Agree the artwork is really nice. Don't know what it has to do with Wargame Factory? They haven't been around for 10 years have they?
The Adrianpolis Topic is a misinterpretation of Vegetius. The context was that they dislikes wearing armour and many refused to wear armour in battle, with bad endings. As I know (it was mentioned...
The Female Cannon Fodder painting looks like a work in progress. But I really like where it's going so far: Sidenote: Have been really impressed by the quality art/covers of ...
@Steffen Seitter you could make Foederati by building the figures with just the parts from this set as they are but if you used the Roman helmets and shields, they could be used for the other ...
Hi, always had a hankering to do a Border Reiver force... my Family Name is a Reiver one so it feels right, Do people think a bit of work could make conqusitadors into suitable foot for the period...

@Aureus Mandate @Don Williams You mean Foederati?
A expansion Set for the Goth sprue to make North Sea Germans like Saxones, Angli and Juti. Post-Roman Ridged Helmets and similary Stuff. Those shield maidens would find a better place in a thread ...
Really looking forward to these, my Late Roman army is on hold until these get released personally, I think it would have been better to have got these done before starting the Goths
Ikko-Ikki? Looks like the Headgear of a Japanese Buddistic Monks of the Sengoku Period. @Brian Van De Walker The ribbon looks asiatic. What brings you on the idea it's "Dark Age Eu...
Sneak peak for 18 FEB 22. Perhaps a head wearing a coif on the right?
@JTam Polish Soldiers? Yes please! I would preorder those in a heartbeat!
@Hudson Adams Touche. Of course. I got excited ;)
@JTam we'll see what fits. It always helps when there's just one type of rifle.
I guess you really cant complain about the Wargames Factory sets though. I think it was like $14 for 3 chariots at one point.
The Wargames factory chariot had a Boudica as well. A really awful Boudica that may not have been human...
Just a very quick Hi all , I brought Rubicons, Marines, VC, a Mk 5 Auzi Centurian, VW Bettle, and a french Travant. Didnt find my dam glue to yesterday, talk about long time no model. A...
I notice there are EIGHT unique bodies. WGA is upping their game!
This is my favorite WGA release so far. (Conquistadors or Panzer Lehr second). It would be awesome to support it with: A WW1/WW2 Cossack Kit. https://wargamesatlantic.com/community/xenfo...
I will echo a couple comments I saw on the New Entry comments: The rifles should have straight stocks, not "C" stocks. They do look a little short, but it's always hard to tell with renders....
Very very very excited for this kit. I have an army of WW1/RCW Russians that would LOVE to receive some reinforcements with these lads, but that aside, it really is incredible how many different fo...
@Grumpy Gnome True that. A really neat kit. Actually, I don't know who was more brilliant. Victrix for getting Boudica on the chariot sprue, or Warlord for this:
Victrix did manage to get Boudicca in plastic for their chariot sprues.

Thusnelda is a historical figure. Although her mini is more of a resin or metal task.
This is a super exciting set. If one needs inspiration for the Civil War / aftermath check out the Soviet classic "White Sun of the Desert": https://youtu.be/Auj_u7wEyw8 Red Army Sol...
@Hudson Adams Olga Kurylenko is real! Which makes a multi part Olga Kurylenko set a historical set!
These are all Fantasy sets! LOL
We could slip this into Imperial Conquests range to cover Boxer Rebellion and Russo-Japanese War but this will do: https://wargamesatlantic.com/blogs/news/russians-for-at-least-4-wars
I don't know why, but I really enjoy these sorts of discussions on how to "fudge" a given kit into a surprising new use - I think it's the problem-solving aspect :) Seems like a good match to me. ...
I have no idea what I would use horses like that.
@Yronimos Whateley Ah, that's why 40K is so popular. It's the best because it goes to 11.
@Kinjack I have not. But I am waiting anxiously.
