An older sneak peak for reference: Sci Fi fort terrain? Pretty cool if so.
An older sneak peak for reference: Sci Fi fort terrain? Pretty cool if so.
This post has nothing to do with what I thought it was going to be about. @Mark Dewis I (at least) can't see the picture.
@Mark Dewis Lovely post Mark, Oh All-Maker why Pocket Titans did not cross the Pond? Will wait anxiouly for updates 😁 What do you plan next?
The sneak peek alien might be not-Predator, but I'm guessing not-Kroot will sell more boxes. That thigh looks very much like a Kroot drumstick, with the vestigal quills... They can't fly TOO close...
@Caratacus Using Byzantines as proxies is actually getting away from the point I was making, which was about making something more generic based on the top picture of the infantry. I agree that th...
Getting to work on the Pocket Titans I bought mostly for the modular terrain - but the mecha were always going to get used. And it turns out the pilots make pretty damn sweet 28mm robots! I swap...
@H M Thanks for your link to midgardakampanjer blog -I totally forgot about it actually- to reminding us what an visionary and historically accurate artist Angus McBride had been.. and how f...
@William Redford F*ck Yes. That looks vaguely familiar and totally awesome:
@Mark Dewis Same as Vitor above... 😁
@Hudson Adams Guess what?... We want more.. 😁... @William Redford Ohh-Rah can fit the part of current SG troopers, Crew members, Mercenaries or even npc models... For SW, maybe...
Glad you like them guys!
I am kind of in the same position as Estoc. I have no use for them currently. I mean maybe for Starwars or or Starfinder. Maybe Stargrave if my buddy decides we are gonna give it a try. But current...
Same as Mister Wilson above..
I'm leaning towards using them as police for sci-fi/near future dystopian games.
I intend to pick up a box even though I don't yet have a good use for them.
I will pre-order a box for sure. @Grumpy Gnome oooh good cath on the vehicle. You may be right. On Facebook, @Hudson Adams said these are for death fields but also for something else TBA... ...
@Caratacus Hello. I can take some new ones, but @Berggeit 's are pretty good. There is this thread Scale shot that I posted some pics of Oathmark too, and it talks a bit about the models i...
@William Redford Personally I love the Oathmark Human infantry. Virtually used all of the bodies now, so I am really tempted to acquire another box. Yeah, the heads are a bit big but love em anyway...
What is the big armored vehicle behind them? Could that be from the render teaser we have seen before? I am surprised how much I like how they look given normally I would never think to use brown ...
One thing that we will probablly all agree on is that as a natural set, it`s just what we want, and a second or third will give great conversions.
@William Redford They do look good with spare Victorex. Hi Bill.
@GreenScorpion For quite awhile I was put off buying Archon due to their lack of a real retail website as I was unsure about what delays may come from their Gamefound pledge manager but once ...
I don`t think that any set has caused so much excitment on forums for along while, the multi use of these figure in gaming is pure amazement. I alone can use them for Shadowrun, Primival ,Stargate,...
The forth comming box sets, to be released by W.A., could no doubt in my mind, be the best recieved figures that the company as ever made. I suspect they will sell to any one who sees them , partic...
A kit with various swarm types (bugs, crows, bats) would be great. I would suggests to create four parts per "creature". A base (tree trunk, direction sign, a pillar or whatever). They could also b...
@William Redford Have you any Gripping Beast or WGA models to compare with the Oathmark Human Infantry you have? I'm planning to get some for my Dark Ages British/Welsh army I'm starting to build a...
@Mark Dewis can't see your pictures in the last 3 posts 😊
Now there's this: https://crooked-dice.co.uk/product/kolonel-zanzibar/
Side note. I don't like the heads on the Oathmark human infantry. They seem way to big. I bought a sprue a year back for Frostgrave but the heads made them look silly, though with some WA Conq head...
@H M I largely agee. As@Brian Van De Walker said there are options, but perhaps not the best ones. Fireforge Rus and byzantines. The Rus are in their older historical scale so a bit small...
@JTam Plastic always over MDF... experimented some really bad construction problems with Frostgrave official buildings and War World Gaming sets during Pandemic.
@JTam Mecano was an awesome band -saw them live twice back to the 80s- and enjoyed quite an international success mostly in Latin countries (so France, Belgium, Swizterland, Italy and Portug...
As i said above -I'm very well aware of what the options out there are, and I stand by my argument. The options for basically anything realistic fantasy that isnt a GoT Stark stand-in are pretty fe...
If you want North Men, yes! If you want anything else, not so much. ;)
I think the major issue with Archon is that they are still not really a company with a retail side, with almost everything they sell being available as pledge manager rather than a normal store, so...
I would say that both Oathmark and Fireforge's Forgotten World line cover "Realistic fantasy" pretty well. Is that what you meant?
So... I think I've identified the real issue with the Bulldog shoulder pads. They aren't on the shoulder. They sit too far down the arm - and because of the webbing straps over tunic on the...
The left arm was a bit skinny, so I bulked it out a bit and added an elbow pad to match the other arms:
Added a sniper and replaced the leader's Bulldog arms with something more sensible (Pistol from Stargrave, left arm from Cannon Fodder)
Works every time...
One body in that get up is enough and what’s more I think they should do one generic pulp action girl heroin in pants (maybe with a flight jacket, though worker overalls isn't bad), a plucky ...
@Brian Van De Walker Well... No. I fully disagree with your entire sentiment, and I think you're being rather rude. There are already good plastic options for Byzantines, Imperial Romans, and inc...
@H M Quick answer: nope. Longer answer: I want to see some good none historic platemail fantasy types that can work for Black powder/industiarl fantasy and VSF as well as classic fantasy (somethin...
@JTam Hmmm... (relooks at pictures, compares).... your right, though to be honest it is a pants thing and I would rather see Egyptians or plain clothed miltia.
@JTam Yeah, no... despite what you think, the two part body thing is not going to do either of those that well really, particularly in "historical scale" proportions and here is why: ...
